10 Reasons Why the Inca Trail Should be on Your Bucket List

Main image

Let me preface this post by saying there are absolutely way more than just 10 reasons to hike the Inca Trail. However, below I will briefly discuss the 10 main reasons why I found the Inca trail to be so spell binding and inspiring.

1- The Views

I still can't believe it was real. The nature surrounding the trail is so diverse and expansive. The trees and mountains truly seem to be infinite. I can promise you will never get bored with your surroundings while on the Inca Trail. Everywhere you look, there are just continuous mountain ranges dense with greenery.

48 Hours in Reykjav铆k; Solo Travel

Main image

48 hours in Iceland? Sounds a little crazy, right? With careful planning, you can surprisingly see a lot. I stopped in Reykjav铆k on my way home from visiting family in Poland (because why not??), and unfortunately was limited on time. So I made the most of it!

That being said, here is how I planned my trip. First, I made a list of things I knew I wanted to see, researched the amount of time each would take, and organized my itinerary. I did make sure to book all of my excursions ahead of time. This helps with planning and sticking to a strict itinerary if you are limited on time. Reykjav铆k is also a very popular tourist destination, meaning places book up quickly.

Below is the itinerary I followed, and highly recommend if you are short on time! (or simply ...

The Climb to the Top of Africa

Main image

I reached the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro on New Year's Day 2020. Traveling to Africa was high on my destination list, as I chased my goal of reaching all 7 continents before I turned 30 (Africa would be #6). While researching Africa, I came across the stories of Kilimanjaro. The chance to summit the tallest free standing mountain in the world?? That sounded right up my alley! (I always love a good challenge). So, I researched that a bit more, and before I knew it, everything was booked. Keep an eye out for an upcoming blog post about how to prepare and pack for the hike.

Below is a day by day itinerary of my trip. I chose to follow the Machame Route. This is one of the most common routes, and was a 7 day itinerary which is a perfect amount of time on the mountain. First, ...

Sleeping on the Edge of a Cliff in Peru

Main image

Natura Vive is a unique experience located in the nestled Sacred Valley in Peru, right outside the town of Ollantaytambo. They offer a climbing experience, as well as ziplining, or you can choose the ultimate package and do both, with an overnight stay in their "skylodge". I'll give you one guess as to which one I chose 馃槈

That's right, I decided to do it all. Why not?? Here is a breakdown of what my adventure would include:

Via Ferrata; The glass pods, or skylodges (where we would be sleeping) are located 400 meters directly above the Sacred Valley. How do you get there? Climb, of course! The method they use to get to these pods is called "via ferrata". This m...

A Day at Giraffe Manor

Main image

You may have already seen the infamous photos and videos that circulate social media. Giraffe Manor is sometimes noted as "the most instagrammed location in the world". Social media influencers with flowing dresses, sitting next to a large open window, while a giraffe sticks their head in and seemingly shares their breakfast with them...sound familiar?Seems pretty cool, right? You may wonder how one gets the chance to partake in this. Some also often wonder if parts of these videos/photos are edited or photo shopped. Well here's a disclaimer; Giraffe Manor is a totally real place, and open to the general public. It is expensive, they book up years in advance, but it is 100% worth it. Keep reading for a "behind the scenes" look at what it is like to stay at Giraf...

7 Continents Before 30

Main image

It all started with a simple trip to Sydney, Australia in 2013. I thought I was just joining a friend for a New Year's Eve destination, but it became much more than that. My wanderlust was instantaneously sparked.

It was my first time leaving North America, and I quickly realized it would not be my last.

Australia

...so what happened next?

Well let me start off by saying I didn't always have a goal of reaching all 7 continents.

I fell in love with what traveling offered me, and it quickly and organically became an attainable accomplishment. After...
